Information we collect

We collect as little as the game needs:

  • Game progress: stored in this browser's local storage (see below).
  • Analytics: usage statistics collected through Google Analytics 4 under Google Consent Mode v2: device type, screen size, timezone and gameplay metrics (scores, times, bounce counts). Bounceplot's own server stores no IP addresses.
  • Your day score: when you finish a day, the game sends one number, your day score, to our server with no identifier attached. It is added to the day's histogram and used only for the "Top N% today" line.
  • No personal data: we do not collect names, emails, accounts or other personally identifiable information.

Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

We process data under the following legal bases:

  • Consent: in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are used only if you allow them in the cookie banner. Unless you do, Google Consent Mode v2 sends Google only cookieless pings with no lasting identifier from those regions.
  • Legitimate interest: aggregated gameplay statistics are used to improve the game.

How we use cookies and local storage

Local storage in your browser holds:

  • Your preferences: theme, language, sound and haptics, precision mode, classroom mode, whether you have seen the onboarding, and your cookie choice (in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, asked again after six months), the classic-rules opt-out, the date of the last promo panel and the last daily reset
  • Your daily progress, day streak, Endurance runs and the day's percentile result

The site itself sets no cookies. The Google tags below do:

  • Google Analytics (in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, only if you allow it)
  • Google Ads conversion measurement, which tells us when a visit came from one of our own ad campaigns (in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, only if you allow it)

Advertising

Bounceplot does not serve third-party advertising networks. You will see first-party promotions for other products made by the Bounceplot team (currently Triopole): side panels beside the board on wide screens, a card when the daily or an Endurance run ends, and on smaller screens a full-screen panel at most once a day. They set no advertising cookies, involve no ad-tech intermediaries and do not track you across sites; we count how often they are shown and clicked through Google Analytics, and Classroom mode in the Menu hides all of them.

Separately from these promos, we use Google Ads conversion measurement to understand when players discover Bounceplot through our own ad campaigns. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland this measurement uses cookies only if you allow them (see Third-party services below).

Data storage and retention

Game progress lives only in this browser's local storage. Clearing the site's data deletes it, and nothing can restore it.

Analytics data is held in Google Analytics, and day scores are held on our server as per-day counts with no identifier. We periodically review and remove analytics data that is no longer needed. No personally identifiable data is stored on our servers.

Our content delivery network keeps request logs for 30 days to count visits and diagnose errors: the page requested, the referring page, browser type and country, never your IP address.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics: for understanding how the game is used. Google Analytics privacy
  • Google Ads conversion measurement: for measuring whether our own ad campaigns bring new players to the game. It is not used to serve ads on Bounceplot, and in the EEA, UK and Switzerland it uses cookies only if you allow them. It is not used for personalised advertising or remarketing anywhere: ad personalization is switched off for every visitor.

These services may transfer data internationally. Google participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Right to access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Right to deletion: request that we delete your data. Since we store no personal data on our servers, clearing this site's data in your browser removes everything the game holds. For analytics data, contact us at the email below.
  • Right to object and to withdraw consent: use Cookies in the site footer to allow or refuse analytics and ad measurement at any time; refusing also deletes the Google cookies already set. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland both stay off until you allow them.
  • Right to portability: your game data lives only in this browser's local storage. There is no account and nothing about you on our servers, so there is nothing for us to export; clearing site data deletes it.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or share your personal information. You have the right to know what data is collected, request deletion, and opt out of any future sale of personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.

Children's privacy

Bounceplot is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date.
